The second oil pastel project was of any image we wanted so I picked a flower that glows blue under UV light. The color scheme was monochromatic, because of that I had to work with different values of blue.  I tried to make each shape of the petals different, so it would look more interesting with the different variations. There was contrast the light blue of the flower to the dark black background to draw your eyes to the center of the work. The movement from the stem of the flower to the background was dark to light shading to show it is first of all in the background, and keep it from being a drastic change that draws your attention there. This is so that your eyes go to the middle of the flower where the pistil are, so you focus more on the small details in the flower.
