I wanted to use an old picture of myself from when I was four years old, because it is one of my favorite pictures of myself. I was originally going to have a scale like design in the bottom left corner, but I decided against it. Why I decided against it is because I wanted to have some white there, but not too much so I changed it to the flowers. I really like how the flowers and the little noodle like design in the left corner turned out they kind of draw you eye to those parts of the work. The picture I had printed out had my face on it, but it was too small to trace so I took a different piece of paper and free handed myself onto the paper so I could transfer it onto the linocut block.
